Wave Deformers
This week i have been working on creating more movement into the ocean and have been using deformers to test this out. Below are a few of the ones that worked the best the ocean and render settings were kept simple on order to render out quickly and not take 8hrs per test.
Boat in the water
I have been looking at the movement of the boat in the water as to wheather to use the locator or to key the boat in the stormy sea.
Boat Keyed which i think will be the best option for our film
Locator on boat, the angle is not the best here but after messy with settings for a while trying to get it to work better, i think there is just to much going on that it is unsure what to do there for the keying the boat would probably be best.

Particle test
paticles test using toonlines, the particles don't fit in with the water but with a little colour corection and comping maigic it might look fine. Just ignore the movement of the boat and that it sinks a bit the purpose of this test was just to see if we could use particles to create splashes
The other particle test that was done earlier in the year did not render properly so could not create a video to show it or do anything comping wise.

Toy Models
I have been working on some toy models and uv mapping them. i wanted to model simple toys as they will be in the background and would not be interacted with so it would be unnessasery to spend alot of time on them.

UV mapping
This week i have also been working in uv mapping some toys
Lamp Uv
The rocket was a little bit uv unfriendly with the object being one mesh when there are parts that are reapeted.
Therefore i split the mesh up so only one object needds to be uv mapped and then the map can be transfered/duplicated how ever many times. can save a great deal of time.

The robot took a while to uv map as there were parts of the mesh that were interpenetrating each other although you will not be able to see it, it does take time to map also the typology from the top of the model ran down to bottom creating unnesseray small faces and if you have to go in to select them it takes longer than it should.

Water Textures

Boat Model
The Boat for the Model is finaly complete after a few attempts and sculpt fails. The main body of the boat was created from a sphere and manipulated into shape. The rim was then extruded. The benches are cubes then manipulated to shape. The rowlock was creted from a sphere to create the circle and then extuded. The oar was created from cylinder and manipulated then extuded on the sides. The rowlocks may be changing to half cups as they were origonally depending on whether it causes rig/animation trouble.

Second water Test with boat
The second water test here i have added the boat for the first time and trying to get it to float correctly. A wake was added to the front andyou can see it sticking to the front of the boat. For the water i tried to make it look less realistic but i think i made it to see through and shiny.

Kelpie Model Update
This is the kelpie model so far and will have to be put to the side for a bit as it is not in the 10% of the film that needs to be done for christmas. The main body was made out of cylanders then Joined together. The head is still a work in progress. Hopefully it should not require to much time to finish then sculpt into.

Basic Fire tests
Here are a few basic fire tests where i look at a few different methods to see which one would be the best. the quality is not great but that was not the purpose for these tests. below are a few looking at different ways to emit particles.
Animatic Models

The bed was created from a cube and manipulatd then dulpicated to create the frame. The laders were extruded outwards. The bed sheets were extruded from the matress. The pillows were created from a plane and shaped,mirrowed joined together and duplicated.
The Toy box was created from a cube and extuded upwards to create back + sides. Also inwards to create the create the front panel. Faces were deleted to create the handles.
Uv mapped the toybox as i thought this was going to be used for the final one as well.

Beach Scene
The 10% of the film that has to be completed by the end of 1st semester was decided which includes a beach scene. I have working on a test to see how we can acomplish this. the Render was kept simple to keep the time short and to see how it looks.
